Wowza — talk about some big year-over-year growth! XPENG scored 30,453 deliveries last month, marking a 570% increase over February 2025.
Part of that has to do with the changing dates of the Chinese New Year. Last year, the dates for the big Chinese New Year holiday were February 10–24. This year, they were January 29–February 12. Okay, that’s not a totally dramatic difference, but it does mean there were a few more days of inactivity in January this year rather than a few more such days in February.
The big reason for XPENG’s sales growth, though, has to be the XPENG MONA M03. The affordable, mass-market model had more than 15,000 sales in February. The P7+ also deserves a lot of the praise, though. It passed 30,000 cumulative sales in just its 3rd month on the market.
Overall, across the first two months of 2025, XPENG reached 60,803 sales. Putting that into some context, that’s a 375% increase over the first two months of 2024.
Also, something that goes a bit under the radar, is just how much XPENG drivers choose to use the company’s impressive ADAS (advanced driver assistance systems). “In February 2025, XNGP’s monthly active user penetration rate in urban driving reached 86%,” XPENG writes. “According to the Spring Festival smart driving usage report released by XPENG, XPENG’s total mileage of smart driving and total time by smart driving during the Spring Festival travel season increased 98.2% and 103.5%, respectively, over the same period last year. At the same time, the smart driving user penetration reached 93.3% and the longest smart driving mileage on a single vehicle hit 12,300 kilometers. In 2025, XPENG will commence development and testing of its Turing AI Smart Driving system for international markets.” I haven’t seen figures anywhere close to that for any other automaker and its ADAS.
Clearly, XPENG is on the upswing in a number of ways. Can this continue through 2025? Why not?
