Thiess’ future talent training program has hosted the largest-ever cohort of graduates and apprentices.
The two-year program concluded this month and offered participants a “holistic view” of Thiess’ operations and values.
The program taught participants structured on-the-job training and guided learning plans, provides leadership mentoring from industry experts, allows participants to rotate through different placements, roles and projects, provides opportunities for participants to score a permanent position with the company, and to connect with like-minded graduates.
It was hosted by Thiess’ leadership team and offered partakers hands-on experiences to theory-based learning so graduates and apprentices are equipped with the necessary tools to excel in their chosen fields.
The program represented various disciplines, including engineering (electrical, mining, mechanical, mechatronics), geology, surveying, environment, digital and technology, health and safety, and human resources.
“Thiess’ program has been an incredible journey, offering invaluable experiences and the chance to connect with an amazing group of like-minded individuals,” Thiess training program participant and recent graduate Jackson said.
“The hands-on training and site-specific software sessions were particularly enlightening, giving me the confidence to step into my new role with assurance.”
The mining services company said the success this cohort has seen marks its ongoing commitment to fostering talent, empowering individuals to thrive, and shaping the future of mining, construction, and engineering through their unique contributions.
Last month, Thiess celebrated the official opening of its new rebuild centre in Indonesia, which will serve as a hub for rebuilding Thiess’ mining equipment for its operations in Asia and Australia.
