Mining services company SRG Global has secured contracts across Queensland and Western Australia with three Tier 1 companies.
In Queensland, the company secured a key maintenance contract with Rio Tinto, where Rio Tinto will provide engineered access services at Yarwun, Gladstone. A maintenance contract was also booked with Queensland Alumina Limited (QAL), where QAL will provide specialist remediation works at the South Trees Island Wharf.
The contract with Rio Tinto will start immediately and is expected to continue for a period of five years, including two by one-year options to extend. The contract with QAL will also begin immediately and is expected to continue for a three-year term.
In WA, the Bugarrba Aboriginal joint venture (JV) term contract with BHP is to provide shut down engineered access
services in the Pilbara region. Bugarrba is a JV with members of the Njamal community in Pilbara and SRG Global.
The contract with BHP will commence instantly and is expected to continue for a period of five years, including three by one-year options to extend.
SRG Global’s new contracts in Queensland and WA are valued at approximately $65 million, with SRG Global managing director David Macgeorge saying the company is pleased to have secured the contracts with BHP, Rio Tinto and QAL.
“These contract wins showcase our specialist skillset as a trusted partner to deliver maintenance services for our clients’ critical infrastructure in the marine, alumina, steel and iron ore sectors,” Macgeorge said.
“With (approximately) $1.2 billion of new contract wins since July, many of them (being) long-term, SRG Global is in a period of significant momentum. Importantly, the contract wins are being achieved across a diversity of sectors and geographies, positioning SRG Global well for long-term, sustainable growth.”
