MISSISSAUGA, Ontario–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Schneider Electric, the leader in the digital transformation of energy management and automation, is proud to celebrate the 100-year anniversary of two innovations that have been instrumental in supporting electrical safety and reliability.
Since their inception, TeSys motor control solutions have been at the forefront of electrical control and power management, setting the standard for reliability and performance. Recent innovations in safety, sustainability, and performance, have led to unmatched motor reliability by integrating digitization and electrification to optimize load management, source management, and condition-based maintenance. TeSys products control over 40 million circuits worldwide.
“Innovation has been at the core of what we do since the company was founded in 1836. We’ve been pioneers in the field of electricity since the 1880s, with our groundbreaking arc-less enclosed fuse in 1905 setting the standard for safety,” says Rohan Kelkar, EVP Power Products, Schneider Electric. “It’s this thirst for innovation that has kept the business at the forefront of the sustainability agenda too. With further changes to the world around us, I look forward to seeing how the team continues to find solutions with safety, reliability, and sustainability at the core of our developments.”
This year, Schneider Electric also celebrates the 100th anniversary of the miniature circuit breaker (MCB) in homes. As electricity has become increasingly central to our lives, the capabilities of the MCB have expanded to ensure the protection of our families, homes, and possessions. Located in each home’s electrical panel, the role of the circuit breaker in homes has never been more crucial. New smart electrical panel solutions such as the Schneider Pulse in the US, or the Resi9 Energy Center in Europe, are innovations that add another layer of safety and intelligence for homes equipped with new energy landscape devices and renewables.
Michael Lotfy Gierges, EVP of Homes & Distribution, Schneider Electric, commented: “With over 100 years of innovation in electrical protection and installations, Schneider Electric is committed to empowering our customers at all levels. Our recent innovations focused on electrification and digitization enable all to meet today’s challenges of the climate and energy crises.”
Also celebrating its 40-year anniversary this year is Schneider Electric’s uninterruptible power supply (UPS) by APC. The APC UPS, acquired by Schneider Electric in 2007, has seen significant advancements and is crucial for IT operations as pressures on infrastructure increase. With global data center growth expected to double from USD 212.53 billion in 2023 to USD 437.33 billion in 2030, the demand for resilient IT infrastructure and power protection through UPS technology is rising.
Recently recognized as TIME’s most sustainable company, Schneider Electric continues to drive innovation for a sustainable future.
