Prospect Awards finalists announced

The 2024 finalists for the Australian Mining Prospect Awards have been released, highlighting some of the best and brightest the resources sector has to offer.

This year’s Prospect Awards will debut at its new home at the esteemed WA Mining Conference and Exhibition (WA Mining) in Perth on October 9.

For more than a decade, the Australian Mining Prospect Awards have been the only national awards program to celebrate those who are bringing excellence and innovation to the resources sector.

The 2024 awards and finalists are:

Innovative Mining Solution

Recognises a mine, company or project that has developed a unique mining solution.

  • Orica – 4D Bulk Systems for Underground
  • Carbonix – Carbonix long-range UAS
  • Stratalock – Stratalock Resin

Safety Advocate of the Year

Recognises an individual that is committed to ensuring safety – either for an individual site or company, or for the mining industry as a whole.

  • Key Consultation Solutions – Kathy Clarkson

Discovery of the year

Celebrating a significant discovery at either a greenfields or brownfields site.

Excellence in Environmental Management and Sustainability

Recognises a mine, company, or project that has developed or carried out an innovative, environmentally-focused sustainable program to protect, preserve and/or rehabilitate the natural environment, contributing to decarbonisation and/or reducing waste and/or waste emissions.

  • Orica – Orica Towards Net Zero Emissions by 2050
  • Bravus Mining and Resources – Multispectral drone use in Springs study
  • BHP West Musgrave project – Novel Land Access and Disturbance Permit

Mine Project Success of the Year

Recognises a significant engineering and/or contract mining project that has been undertaken on a mine site.

Project Lead of the Year

Recognises an individual who has led a project or mine site to a successful outcome. This could be an internal project at a mine, or a project lead by a contract miner or supplier.

Excellence in Mine Safety, OH&S

Recognises a mine, company, or project that has developed or carried out a program that increased safety, removes risk, or cuts worker issues on a project or mine.

Indigenous Community Engagement
