New Destiny drills hidden historic mine at Treasure Mountain

New Destiny Mining (TSXV: NED) reports progress on its 2024 exploration at the Treasure Mountain project near Princeton, BC, located 30 km east of Hope and 150 km east of Vancouver.

Drilling has begun at the Railroad copper-silver zone. The first hole, TMN24-01, was drilled under a 2019 trench with an average grade of 0.64% copper and 116 ppm silver over 4.2 metres near an old mine entrance. This hole uncovered previously unmapped historic mine workings, showing more extensive excavation than expected. A second hole, TMN24-02, will be drilled at a steeper angle to explore below these old workings.

The Treasure Mountain property spans 10,819 ha and lies 38 km west of the Copper Mountain mine at Princeton in southern BC. The area targets critical minerals in porphyry copper-moly deposits, gold-quartz veins, and polymetallic silver-rich veins.

Historical exploration and activities in the area date back to the early 1900s, with some claims reported as early as the 1890s in the Jim Kelly Creek area.

The Treasure Mountain silver property contains various deposits of silver, gold, lead, zinc and copper, along with two copper-molybdenum occurrences. Copper and nickel mineralization is also noted in the northern part of the property. Additionally, it borders Nicola Mining’s Treasure Mountain property which hosts polymetallic veins and the historic Treasure Mountain silver-lead-zinc mine.
