Liontown Resources has locked in Sirrom Corporation to manage its Kathleen Valley Dragonfly Village accommodation for fly-in, fly-out (FIFO) workers.
Sirrom will provide a range of services to the accommodations including dining offerings, site-wide cleaning services, and running of the on-site café, retail shop, tavern, and gym.
“The award follows a rigorous tender process, during which Sirrom Corporation showcased its extensive experience and distinctive service offerings that we believe will play a crucial role in enhancing the success of Liontown’s Kathleen Valley operation and life on site,” Liontown said.
“Sirrom Corporation has committed to sustainably delivering a high quality of dining options and engaging social spaces at our project, ensuring our hard-working team has an enjoyable home away from home to unwind and relax in whilst minimising our impacts on the environment.”
Sirrom Corporation has also committed to working closely with the local Tjiwarl Traditional Owners to support Liontown in its goal to create social and economic value for the community.
Established in 1966 and operating at over 30 locations across the country, Sirrom Corporation is an Australian-owned business with experience supporting remote accommodation facilities for mining operations.
Awarding the contract is another significant milestone for Liontown as it prepares for first production and steady-state operations at the Kathleen Valley lithium project, on track to commence mid-2024.
The contract follows a $550 million debt facility agreement Liontown entered into in March 2024 to fund the development of Kathleen Valley.
The company commenced underground mining at Kathleen Valley in the December quarter of 2023, with potential plans to expand its base case production.
