London, January 02, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) ––– India’s petroleum consumption showed steady growth in December 2024, with petrol, with petrol consumption rising by 10.56% year-on-year to 3,305 thousand metric tonnes (TMT), according to provisional data released in the PPAC Flash Report.
Diesel demand also grew by 5.85%, reaching 8,048 TMT compared to the same period last year.
Aviation turbine fuel (ATF) consumption increased by 8.05% year-on-year to 778 TMT, reflecting a revival in air traffic and travel demand. Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG), including propane and butane, saw a 5.27% rise, , reaching 2,880 TMT in December 2024.
The report also highlighted cumulative growth over pre-pandemic levels. Petrol consumption registered a Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) of 5.97% compared to December 2019.
