Alkane Resources has recorded the highest-grade gold interval ever at its Kaiser deposit in New South Wales.
The Kaiser deposit is part of the Northern Molong Porphyry project (NMPP), which is located near Wellington in the Central West region. The current drilling program for NMPP extends over three kilometres from Kaiser to Boda and down to Boda 2–3.
Alkane has received assay results for the final 12,000m of reverse circulation and diamond core drilling completed at Kaiser, which was completed on a nominal 50m x 50m grid spacing within the existing inferred resource.
The latest round of drilling results at Kaiser has produced the best gold interval ever, with one intercept grading at 8.6 metres at 14.8 grams per tonne (g/t) of gold equivalent from 316.4m.
“The final results from the infill drilling at Kaiser contain even more high-grade sections, including the highest-grade intercept we’ve ever seen at Kaiser at 62g/t gold equivalent in a metre section,” Alkane Resources managing director Nic Earner said.
“There’s also a very interesting ‘Boda’ style breccia that has two sections totalling over 70 metres with great than 3 g/t gold equivalent. We’re working on the block model and expect to have the updated Kaiser resource estimate ready in April.”
Kaiser’s inferred resource currently contains 2.1 million ounces (moz) of gold and 500,000 tonnes of copper.
The deposit’s updated resource will include the recently updated Boda MRE of 10.9Moz at 0.58g/t of gold equivalent and will be used in a scoping study that is expected to be released in the June quarter of 2024.
