Gladiator Metals (TSXV: GLAD; OTC Pink: GDTRF; FSE: ZX7) has updated its ongoing data compilation of historic drilling and identification of the largely untested shallow, high-grade Arctic Chief prospect at the historical Whitehorse copper project in the Yukon.
Historical drill intersections at Arctic Chief external to the previously mined areas includes mineralization that remains open both along strike and at depth, with best results including: 17.1 metres at 1.52% copper from 26.5 metres and 13.4 metres at 1.42% copper from 20.9 metres.
The company says recent field mapping and rock chip results show geological continuity of outcropping high-grade copper and gold mineralization in the wider area surrounding Arctic Chief where mineralization remains open both along strike and at depth at all the defined prospect areas.
Historical drilling was selectively sampled for high-grade copper only. Given the high-grade gold reported in recent rock chipping results (up to 10.10 g/t gold), Gladiator will assay all future drilling and sampling for gold, silver and molybdenum.
Gladiator CEO Jason Bontempo said the company is pleased to have identified another priority work area from its data compilation of historic drilling datasets. Field crews remain active in the Whitehorse Copper belt with mapping, sampling and geophysical programs over the summer months.
