Former copper CEO resigns

Buxton Resources non-executive director Eamon Hannon has resigned from the company’s board effective from today.

Hannon joined the company in 2014, serving initially as chief executive officer and then as managing director until August 2023 when he moved into a non-executive board role.

The company said Hannon leaves in an enviable position with a strong portfolio of Buxton assets including Copper Wolf, Graphite Bull, and Dogleg in Western Australia.

“The company and shareholders owe a debt of gratitude to Eamon,” Buxton chair Seamus Cornelius said.

“He steered the company through some challenging times and left it much better off than when he joined.

“Eamon’s guiding principle was to always put shareholder interests first and do the very best he could with whatever hand he held.

“It is my privilege to thank Eamon for his contribution and wish him every success in whatever he chooses to do from now on.”

Hannon’s resignation follows a breakthrough in growth for the company at its Copper Wolf project in WA.

An extensive copper porphyry system was discovered at the Wolverine prospect, which is held in 100 per cent Buxton tenure.

“I’m looking forward to the next steps, including confirmatory scout drilling once permits are in place,” Buxton chief executive officer Marty Moloney said.
