Evolution Mining has announced a strategic investment with Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions to renew its underground mining fleet across key operations in Australia.
New fleet members will touch down at Evolution’s Ernest Henry copper-gold mine in Queensland, Mungari gold mine in Western Australia, and Northparkes copper-gold mine in New South Wales.
Evolution Mining chief operating officer Matt O’Neill emphasised the importance of maintaining a modern, reliable and productive fleet across operations to optimise performance and production reliability.
“Sandvik’s proven products have consistently delivered results, providing the case for this renewal program,” O’Neill said.
“The deployment of these units over the coming year will ensure a seamless transition and continued operational excellence.”
Sandvik will deliver Toro TH663i trucks and Toro LH621i loaders to Ernest Henry with the aim of optimising operational efficiency and supporting ongoing mine development initiatives.
Mungari will welcome Toro TH663i and Toro TH551i trucks, Toro LH517i loaders and two Sandvik DD422i development drills.
Evolution is also integrating a Toro LH514 loader into the Northparkes fleet.
“Our collaboration with Evolution Mining extends beyond equipment supply to include automation systems, digital products, rock tools, parts and service offerings,” Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions Australia and New Zealand area sales vice president Wayne Scrivens said.
“We are committed to supporting Evolution Mining in achieving its operational goals and look forward to further strengthening our partnership.”
Results from Evolution’s June quarter are expected to be released next week, but the miner has been going from strength to strength as of late.
The company delivered a 15 per cent increase in gold production during the March 2024 quarter, with 185,252 ounces of gold produced.
