London, 09 February 2024, (Oilandgaspress): – Rig Count: U.S. +4 to 623 Canada unchanged at 232
U.S. Rig Count is up 4 from last week to 623 with oil rigs unchanged at 499, gas rigs up 4 to 121 and miscellaneous rigs unchanged at 3.
U.S. Rig Count is down 138 rigs from last year’s count of 761 with oil rigs down 110, gas rigs down 29 and miscellaneous up 1 to 2.
Canada Rig Count is unchanged from last week at 232, with oil rigs unchanged at 141, and gas rigs unchanged at 91.
International Rig Count is up 10 rigs from last month to 965 with land rigs up 5 to 740, offshore rigs up 5 to 225. International Rig Count is up 64 rigs from last year’s count of 901, with land rigs up 65, offshore rigs down 1.
The Worldwide Rig Count for January was 1,784, up 45 from the 1,739 counted in December 2023, and down 115, from the 1,899 counted in January 2023.

Nissan contributes €797 million to Renault Group’s Full Year 2023 earnings
Nissan released its results for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023/2024 (April 1st,2023 to March 31st, 2024).
Nissan’s results, published in Japanese accounting standards, for the third quarter of fiscal year 2023/2024 (October 1st to December 31st, 2023), after IFRS restatements, will have a negative contribution to Renault Group’s fourth quarter 2023 net income estimated at -€440 million[1].

Airbus, Avinor, SAS, Swedavia and Vattenfall have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to investigate the feasibility of a hydrogen infrastructure at airports in Sweden and Norway. This cooperation will provide better understanding of hydrogen aircraft concepts and operations, supply, infrastructures and refueling needs at airports in order to help develop this hydrogen aviation ecosystem in both countries. The work will also identify the pathways to select which airports will be transformed first to operate hydrogen-powered aircraft in both countries as well as the accompanying regulatory framework.
This is the first time that a feasibility study of this kind covers two countries and more than 50 airports. It reflects the partners’ shared ambition to use their respective expertise to support the decarbonisation of the aviation industry and to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. Read More
