Mineral Resources subsidiary CSI Mining Services has formed its first joint venture partnership with PMW Industries (PMWI), an Indigenous-owned business that delivers rail and civil services.
CSI and PMW Industries have been working together to deliver crushing, screening and rehabilitation services to Tier 1 mining companies since 2022.
The new joint venture partnership between both parties is set to strengthen the relationship and focus on the establishment of a mining services contract portfolio. PMW Industries will hold 51 per cent of the joint venture, with CSI holding the balance.
“CSI and PMWI have been working together since 2022, including establishing an accredited Indigenous trainee program for crushing and equipment operators,” CSI chief executive officer Mike Grey said.
“We already have some great wins on the board, including upskilling 27 Indigenous trainees and achieving record tonnes crushed for a mining client.
“CSI is committed to building strong relationships with Traditional Owners and local Indigenous groups to advance economic outcomes and thrilled to team up with a Pilbara-based Indigenous company.”
PMW Industries is a Traditional Owner Banjima business. Banjima Country is in the central Pilbara region of Western Australia and covers more than one million hectares of land.
PMW Industries managing director and Banjima Traditional Owner Paula White said the new joint venture set the company up for further growth.
“We currently have more than 50 employees across WA, with 55 per cent Indigenous – this is a great opportunity to grow our business and expand our capabilities,” White said.
CSI recently revealed plans to expand its operations into Queensland, after receiving a contract award to deliver haulage services for a Tier 1 mining company.
