AIRCO Welcomes Dr. Sathya Motupally (COO) and James Mackey (CFO) to its Executive team to join in taking the organization through its next phase of growth.
NEW YORK–(BUSINESS WIRE)–AIRCO, the carbon conversion technology company transforming CO₂ into fully-formulated synthetic fuels for industrial applications, is excited to announce the appointment of two new executives to join its growing leadership team: Dr. Sathya Motupally as Chief Operating Officer (COO) and James Mackey as Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Dr. Motupally, a renowned energy expert, brings extensive experience in scaling clean energy businesses globally to his new role of COO at AIRCO. Dr. Motupally joins AIRCO following his tenure as Global COO of Doosan’s fuel cell business from 2014 to 2023. Previous roles for Dr. Motupally also include Head of R&D for UTC Power as well as strategic advisor to the United States Department of Energy. During his time as Doosan’s COO, Dr. Motupally played a pivotal role in driving growth across all aspects of the business, from technology development through to product sales, scaling the enterprise by over seven-fold.
As CFO, Mackey will join the AIRCO executive team with an esteemed background in capital raising, investment strategy, and commercial business development. Prior to AIRCO, Mackey served as Managing Director with Climate Investment, where he led the team responsible for investing in assets that reduce, recycle and store greenhouse gas emissions from industrial facilities. Additionally, Mackey held the role of Senior Vice President of Finance at Apex Clean Energy and Executive Director at NextEra Energy Resources leading Mergers & Acquisitions.
These pivotal executive hires come on the heels of AIRCO’s recent $70M Series B funding round, which marked a significant advancement toward large-scale production of its fully formulated CO₂-derived SAF (AIRMADE
SAF). Dr. Motupally and Mackey join the team to support AIRCO at this time of exponential growth.
