‘Zero Bills’ initiative in Germany

London, January 23, 2025, (Oilandgaspress) –––Germany’s home energy revolution is taking shape in Schramberg, where Octopus Energy is enabling the nation’s first 100% ‘Zero Bills’ neighbourhood. The Schramberg development will offer residents a future free from energy bills for at least six years, marking a game-changing milestone in sustainable living.

Each of the 24 homes will be powered by cutting-edge green technology, including solar panels, heat pumps, and batteries – ensuring clean and cost-free energy.

Construction of the development is set to begin in the next few weeks, with the first residents expected to move in by the end of 2025.

The new homes will also feature state-of-the-art timber frame construction by partner housebuilder KAMPA, adding to their affordability and eco-friendly living standards.

The announcement follows hot on the heels of the launch of Germany’s first ‘Zero Bills’ home this past July. Germany is one of three countries, along with the UK and New Zealand, where Octopus Energy has introduced its innovative ‘Zero Bills’ tariff.

Launched in 2022, ‘Zero Bills’ is a world-first energy tariff from Octopus Energy that allows customers to move into homes equipped with green tech, guaranteeing no energy bills.

Octopus Energy aims to deliver 100,000 ‘Zero Bills’ homes by 2030..
