London, June 19, 2024 , (Oilandgaspress) ––– Volkswagen of America, Inc. announced that the 2024 Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV has been ranked third on the Cars.com 2024 American-Made Index®, an annual independent ranking of “how American” Cars.com deems a vehicle to be, up three spots from a year ago.
The annual Cars.com index analyzes five primary factors to determine its annual ranking, including location of final assembly, percentage of U.S. and Canadian parts and U.S. assembly employees relative to the automaker’s footprint.
Built on Volkswagen’s MEB electric vehicle architecture, the ID.4 blends the advantages of a purpose-built EV with the performance, design and value that have characterized the brand for decades.
The ID.4 SUV is assembled at Volkswagen’s Chattanooga, Tennessee plant, alongside the Atlas and Atlas Cross Sport. Volkswagen remains deeply committed to the economic vitality of Chattanooga, fostering community and promoting growth. Since 2008, Volkswagen has invested more than $4.3 billion in its Chattanooga assembly plant.
